Trailhead

If you have not seen anything about Salesforce and how it works, this is the place to begin! Salesforce has their own FREE resource for learning everything Salesforce here. This is most people’s primary introduction to the learning.

Need a comprehensive guide of all the certification paths? This is the comprehensive guide to all 25 certifications that Salesforce offers, as well as an explanation of the 6 roles and training resources that Salesforce provides. (The old certification guide can be found here.)

Build Your Career in the Salesforce Ecosystem Trail on Trailhead

Learn more directly from Salesforce about how you could develop your career in the Salesforce ecosystem. The trail is ~5 hours, but it’s great career development education for all! I encourage you to do the “Career Development Planning” module- a great place to start.

Focus on Force

Looking for additional study materials? This is my favorite “unofficial” Salesforce resource. When I felt that others were a little too easy and needed something that was more reliability in updated information, this was an excellent place to go. Not to mention their study guides/practice exams (not free) in my personal opinion are one of the best in the market and are worth it.

Udemy: Mike Wheeler Media

Want someone to break down the Admin Cert a bit more? This is the best resource for people who would prefer a better breakdown of Salesforce and haven’t had any exposure to it. Wheeler is an industry professional and has taught many for cloud careers. While I find the quizzes to be way too easy, this is another great third party to start with!

This is another great studying resource! The admin version is free, but I definitely have found that their exam notes are helpful in getting concise with the general topics of the course. They provide PLENTY of resources and links to dive deeper into the contexts, projects to practice your assignments, and quite a few other things. At a similar price point to Focus on Force, definitely another great self-study too.

While I generally recommend the study path from Admin to Developer because it gives professionals the opportunity to learn the platform without coding first, I am often asked what are some Salesforce developer resources. While Trailhead and Community could be valuable generally for all, focusing your efforts in getting an account under the Developer forum could be crucial to coding in a sandbox environment, as well as access to API documentations, etc.

Need to collaborate with others? Consider this a more collaborative “forum” for asking questions, attending events and asking for help. As always, be respectful and make it easy for users to help you! There is everything from Study groups, to local groups to even job postings!
